Town of Belmont Town Hall Retaining Wall Reconstruction

The Facilities Department for the Town of Belmont invites the submission of sealed bids for the Retaining Wall Reconstruction at Belmont Town Hall located at 455 Concord Avenue, Belmont, MA 02478. Scope of work includes repair/reconstruct fieldstone masonry retaining wall, install new wrought iron railings, reset existing granite stairs, and mill and asphalt overlay driveway. Construction to be started June 2025 and completed in the fall of 2025.

The estimated contract award is $650,000. Bidders must be DCAMM Certified. Filed Sub-Bidders must have DCAMM Certification in Masonry and Miscellaneous and Ornamental Iron.

Bid documents will be available starting Wednesday, April 2, 2025, via Projectdog at www.projectdog.com using code 867803.

Pre-bid walkthrough will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Belmont Town Hall, 455 Concord Avenue, Belmont. Bid questions shall be submitted in writing, via email to Marta Kabalin, Belmont Facilities Project Manager, at mkabalin@belmont-ma.gov.

Deadline for submission is Wednesday, April 23 at 10:00 AM for Filed Sub-Bids, and Wednesday, April 30 at 10:00 AM for General Bids, when bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Town of Belmont Planning Board Public Hearing Notice

Pursuant to MGL Ch. 40A, Sec. 5, the Belmont Planning Board will open a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 7:15 pm to discuss and receive public comments on the following proposed amendments to the Town’s Zoning By-Laws and Zoning Maps:

(1) By amending the Town of Belmont Zoning By-Laws and Zoning Map to add a new Belmont Center Overlay District consisting of multiple subdistricts, along with associated conforming amendments, and amend the Town of Belmont Zoning Map to add a Belmont Center Overlay District composed of the aforesaid; and

(2) By amending Section 6.6, Floodplain District, of the Belmont Zoning By-Laws, to ensure that they remain aligned with the requirements of FEMA for such By-Laws and in order to maintain Town eligibility to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

The hearing will be conducted via remote means to the extent permitted by law. The public will be able to participate through a meeting link that can be found by downloading the meeting agenda on the Planning Board website. If the hearing cannot be held remotely, it will instead be held in-person at the Homer Building Gallery, 19 Moore Street, 3rd Floor.
