In Support of Nomita Ganguly

I am writing in support of Nomita Ganguly for state representative.

For many years, Nomita has devoted her time and energy towards strengthening our community. Her service has included a number of volunteer roles supporting Belmont’s schools, including serving as co-President of the Foundation for Belmont Education.

This kind of sustained involvement demonstrates her genuine commitment to Belmont, and I am confident she will bring that same commitment to representing our community at the state level.

As our representative, Nomita will bring to the role significant professional experience working with the Massachusetts State Legislature. From the beginning of her career working as a legislative aide to her many years as a public interest lobbyist for non-profit organizations, Nomita has developed a deep understanding of how the State House works, how legislation moves forward, and how to build the relationships needed to get things done. She has a proven track record of success – from securing increased funding for Councils on Aging to successfully advocating for legislation to protect consumers. This experience will enable her to step into the role prepared to serve effectively from day one.

Massachusetts is at an important crossroads, particularly when it comes to our state’s economy and affordability. I believe we need both fresh energy and practical experience in the State House. Nomita brings that combination, along with a demonstrated commitment to public service and to the Belmont community.

For these reasons, I am proud to support Nomita Ganguly for state representative in the primary on Sept. 1.
