Letter: Ensure Open Discussion

February 17, 2024

We get the government we voted for and we live in one the bluest of blue states, where one political party governs.

This allows our elected representatives to set up restrictive access at public meetings and other forums; there is no political pushback with these restrictions. I do share Sheetal Chhabria concerns (Letters, Feb. 2) about access to elected representatives. The only thing that will get our democratic access back is to withhold our support of these restrictive candidates during their next campaign.

Electing new representatives who will be more open to discussions at public meetings.
