I’m writing to ask readers of the Belmont Voice to help re-elect our state senator, Will Brownsberger, to the Massachusetts legislature.
Will is a true public servant.
He listens and responds to your concerns. If you call him, he will call you back.
He works hard on solutions to the issues that matter. At the local level, securing funds for local schools, libraries, and commuter paths. At the regional level, collaborating on solutions to reduce traffic and commuting time on buses passing through Fresh Pond and Mt. Auburn. At the state level, leading passage of criminal justice reform to reduce the prison population by 50% while maintaining state safety (we live in the second safest state in the country)
Will is independent and demonstrates the highest integrity. He is fearless and his vote is not for sale.
Will has an opponent this year.
His opponent is supported by powerful officials and some of the richest out-of-state donors in the country. His opponent promises future gifts – electrification of the entire commuter rail network, running our buses 24 hours a day. These promised gifts show up daily on social media. But I can’t find any details to support his plans in his Instagram posts or on his website. Who did he talk to? What will it cost? What are the tradeoffs?
Will is not Santa Claus. I like that. I disagree with a few of Will’s positions. I like that, too. An occasional disappointment is well worth representation by Will, a true public servant helping Belmont and our neighboring constituents across Watertown and parts of Boston and Cambridge.
I hope you’ll vote for Will on Sept. 1.
