A vacant storefront on Leonard Street will have a new tenant soon, as AJ Rose Carpets and Flooring plans to open sometime this spring.
The Belmont outlet joins outlets in Needham, Natick, Lynnfield, and Burlington. It will fill the store left vacant when Didriks closed last fall.
“The town offers a strong residential community, a central location and close proximity to many surrounding neighborhoods where customers are looking for flooring solutions,” Sam Locher, vice president of business development for AJ Rose, wrote in an email.
Didriks owner, Jonathan Henke, opened his housewares shop in 2017. He closed the store when the lease ended, citing a desire to pursue other ventures.
According to Locher, AJ Rose continues to see high demand for flooring and design services as people update and renovate their current spaces.
“The new showroom allows the company to better serve the Metrowest and Cambridge-area markets,” he wrote. “It will be a great addition to our current showrooms.”
The space is large enough to showcase Rose’s wares, as well as to allow customers to browse and meet with design consultants.
It is expected to open sometime this spring.
According to Locher, the family-owned company has been around since 1977. Started by a wife and husband team, it is now run by the couple’s sons.
“AJ Rose continues to expand while staying true to its roots,” Locher wrote.
