Girls basketball –The girls basketball team didn’t play this week as they prepare to face No. 9 Needham in the first round of the MIAA tournament on Feb. 27. The Marauders (13-7) are seeded 24th.
Boys Basketbal l–The boys basketball team captured the Spartan Classic tournament title last week, defeating Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School 57-53 in the championship game. Senior captain Andre Chavushian led the box score with 17 points, and junior captain Braiden Dargon added 15 to help secure the win.The Marauders (12-8) and seeded 31st, will face 34th-seed Chelmsford on Feb. 24 in a MIAA tournament play-in matchup.
Girls hockey– The girls hockey team was shut out, 3-0, by Waltham in their last game of the regular season.The 16th-seeded Marauders (11-6-3) will face off against 17th-seed Shrewsbury in the first round of the MIAA tournament on Feb. 25.
Boys Hockey –The Marauders faced a tough stretch this week, dropping two games against prep school competition. First, on Feb.17, Belmont fell 8-1 to Pope Francis, with the lone goal scored by sophomore Gabe Kioumejian. They then went on to suffer a narrow 3-2 loss to Central Catholic on Feb.18. Kioumejian found the net again, along with a goal from junior Nick Ianelli. Seeded 26th, Belmont (5-15-2), will face Pope Francis (seeded 7th) in the first round of the MIAA tournament, on Feb. 25. .
Wrestling– The wrestling team competed at the MIAA Division I tournament last weekend, where Belmont saw strong individual performances. Ava Svistunov and Eva Cohen each battled their way through their brackets to earn second-place finishes, highlighting a successful showing for the Marauders.
