Girls Basketball – The girls basketball team played two games this week, splitting the slate. The week opened with a 60-50 loss to Woburn. Sophomore guard Sarah Geller led the team with 19 points. The Marauders proceeded to bounce back in emphatic fashion against Lexington. Belmont dominated from start to finish in a 58-28 victory. This time, Sophia McClendon led the box score with 19 points. With the win, the team improved its record to 11-6.
Boys Basketball – Belmont had an eventful three-game week, finishing with two wins in conference play. The week opened with a 58-50 loss to Woburn on Feb. 3, despite junior captain Braiden Dargon’s 22 points and 13 rebounds. Belmont bounced back with a one-point victory over Lexington, 63-30, on Fri. Feb 6, in a game that came down to the final possession. An all-around effort from the team led the way, with Dargon contributing 17 points and junior William Murphy putting up 11. Belmont carried that momentum into their matchup against Melrose on Sun. Feb 8, securing a hard-fought 63-59 win to close out the week. Dargon led the way again, scoring 25 points. With the pair of victories, the team improved its record to 9-7 on the season.
Girls Hockey – The girls hockey team put together an undefeated week, earning two wins. Belmont opened with a 5-2 victory over Arlington on Feb. 4 before closing the week with a 3-1 win against Woburn on Feb. 7. Senior captain Mackenzie Clarke put two in the back of the net, and freshman Mackenzie Tierney added another of her own. With the wins, Belmont improved to 10-4-3.
Boys Hockey -The boys hockey team went 1-1-1 on the week, earning points in two of their three contests. The week opened with a 2-2 tie against Concord-Carlisle on Feb. 1. The Marauders then fell to Arlington, 8-1, on Feb. 4, before bouncing back with a 6-3 win over Woburn on Feb. 7 to close out the week. With the results, the team’s record now stands at 4-11-2 on the season.
Girls Track -The girls track team competed at the Middlesex League Championships this week, finishing last overall in the league. The Marauders did, however, have some solid performances. Senior captain Kira Van Kelsted led the Marauders, placing seventh in the mile with a time of 5:31 and earning Belmont’s lone medal of the meet. Senior Nathallya DeAmaral placed 11th in the 55-meter dash, finishing in 7.84 seconds. Sophomore Vara Harell narrowly missed the podium in the 600-meter run, finishing 10th overall in 1:45. Senior Siri Iagnemma closed out the distance events for Belmont, just missing out on a medal with a ninth-place finish in the 1000-meter run at 3:22.

Boys Track – The boys track team competed at the Middlesex League Championships on Feb. 2, where they placed sixth out of 12 teams with 31 points. Senior Bayo Zugman led the sprint group, placing fourth overall in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.77, placing fourth overall. Freshman Ishaan Kanagaraj delivered an impressive performance in the mile, finishing second overall in 4:35. Zugman also placed fifth in the 300-meter dash with a time of 36.5, while senior Iggy Matorras followed closely behind, placing eighth in 37.6, and setting a new personal record. In the field category, sophomore Esmael Peavey placed second in the high jump, hitting a new personal record of six feet. The 4×200 and 4×400 relay teams both finished sixth, rounding out a meet in which all listed athletes earned medals and contributed to the team’s sixth-place finish. Both track teams prepared for the Division 2 state championship meet, which was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Feb.11 at the New Balance indoor track.

Boys Swim and Dive – The boys swim and dive team competed at the sectional championships on Feb. 8, earning multiple medals against strong competition. The medley relay team kicked off the meet with a seventh-place finish, securing a podium spot. Junior Ben Wu followed with a seventh-place performance in the 200-meter event, continuing a strong individual showing for the Marauders. The 200-meter freestyle relay team closed out sectionals with another seventh-place finish, marking the team’s third medal of the meet and highlighting a consistent effort across relay and individual events.
Wrestling -The wrestling team finished the week with a 1-2 record, beating Boston Latin Academy while falling to Wakefield and Wayland. Despite the mixed team results, several wrestlers delivered standout individual performances. Seniors Walt Pressey and Tim Ibragimov each went undefeated on the week. Freshmen Asher Cohen and sophomore Ramy Baghdady also impressed, matching that mark with perfect 3-0 performances of their own.
