Town Clerk Ellen O’Brien Cushman said 142 residents voted on Saturday, the first day for early voting.
By mid-afternoon Monday, almost 100 additional voters cast their ballots in person.
“Vote by Mail Ballots are being returned, and we are grateful,” Cushman wrote in an email. “Once voters have made their ballot choices, we ask that they return their voted ballots by placing them in the green secure drop box at the base of the steps to Town Hall or by mail.”
The post office asks that ballots be mailed one week before the election, she added.
