Girls Lacrosse: Belmont opened its season with two wins, beating Weston 13-11 on Mar. 31, and Melrose 14-9 on Apr. 2. Senior captain Sydney Mun has been anchoring Belmont’s early-season offense, scoring nine goals over the first two games.
Boys Lacrosse: The Marauders have had a slower start to the season than their female counterparts, losing to Waltham, 8-7, on March 31 and falling to Melrose, 9-4, on April 2.
Senior captains Eli Akins and Declan Doherty have both impressed on attack.
Boys Rugby: The Marauders started their season on April 2, with a 12-12 tie against Xaverian, the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year. Senior Lucas Kolb and junior Justin Giroux each scored a try. The boys will return to action on April 10, when they host Milton in their home opener.
Boys Volleyball: Belmont opened its season with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Catholic Memorial on March 27. They lost to Medford, 3-1, on March 31, but bounced back to beat Burlington, 3-0, on April 2, in a game where senior setter Ian Choi recorded 32 assists.
Baseball: The Marauders opened their season in style, cruising to a 6-0 win over Melrose, on the back of a combined no-hitter from senior pitchers Craig Deane and Kyle Ksander.
Softball: After taking a 16-5 beating at the hands of Newton South to open their season, the softball team bounced back with a dominant 13-3 win over Melrose.
Junior pitcher Olivia Ormond recorded nine strikeouts, and sophomore catcher Janna Feinberg drove in three runs.
