Field Hockey – The Marauders finished off a busy week with two wins and one loss, bringing the overall record to 13-2. On Oct. 14, the girls shut out Reading 4-0, with two goals coming from both senior Mackenzie Clarke and sophomore Kendall Regan. On Oct. 16, Belmont rolled over Stoneham, 5-0. The team’s starting defense – consisting of seniors Niamh Lesnik and Caroline French, junior Elsie Lakin-Schultz, and freshman Kate Townsend – shined, helping the Marauders secure their eighth shutout of the season. On Oct. 17, the team absorbed their second loss of the season, falling to Dover-Sherborn High School. Going into the final week of the regular season, the girls rank third in the state with the playoffs approaching next week.

Boys Soccer – The boys went undefeated, finishing with one win and one tie. After a slow start to the season, the team is on a five-game unbeaten run. On Oct. 15, Belmont celebrated senior night, with a convincing 5-0 win over Stoneham. Seniors Daniel Chang and Jake Diorio each scored twice, and sophomore Robert Hoerle added the fifth. On Oct. 18, the boys tied Reading 1-1, with Belmont’s goal scored by Diorio, his 10th of the season.

Girls Soccer – Belmont played three games over four days, winning all three. On Oct. 15, the girls trounced Stoneham 7-0, with three goals coming from senior Danica Zicha and two from sophomore Eva Berlis, while junior Lily Cook contributed a goal and an assist. The next day, the girls dominated again, with a 6-0 win over Reading. Zicha led with another hat trick. Other standout performances came from senior Nora Goulding (one goal, one assist) and sophomore Cassie Greiner (two assists). Finally, on Oct. 18, the girls won a hard-fought game against Andover 2-1. The girls currently hold a 13-2-1 record and are ranked seventh in Division 1.

Girls Volleyball – The volleyball team had a successful week, winning two of their three matches. On Oct. 14, Belmont lost to Reading. Senior June Perez helped the team stay in the game with some crucial digs. On Oct. 16, the Marauders defeated Stoneham 3-1, with senior Esther Ji’s sets helping Belmont secure the victory. The next day, the girls took on Wayland High School and once again proved too much for their opposition. Junior Katia Polina racked up seven kills, ultimately leading the Marauders to their third win in four games. The team currently has a 9-8 record, and looks to stay above .500 in hopes of securing a playoff spot.

Football – The football team lost 50-0 to Woburn on Oct. 17, falling to 0-6 on the season. The Marauders hope to secure their first win of the season on Friday, Oct. 24, at home against Reading, currently 2-4.
