I am excited about Matt Taylor’s candidacy for the Select Board. Matt’s fresh perspective will bring new and creative energy to the Select Board as Belmont faces many challenges.
Matt has already made an impact in creating ways for our residents to understand the important work that is happening throughout Belmont. Matt has created a visual representation of the budget that is very useful in understanding the prior years’ spending as well as the implications for future spending. The website Matt has created for the Structural Change Impact Group provides a user-friendly tool for anyone to learn more about the key structural changes that have been proposed for Belmont. He has created access to complex information with user-friendly tools. These efforts are important in engaging all community members in the conversations regarding the activity happening in our town government.
Matt’s goals of moving to a 10% commercial tax base, creating operational efficiency, and sustaining our community and the schools are all relevant and important as we look to the future of Belmont. Matt cares deeply about our community.
As an active community member and the mom of a Belmont Public School student, I believe that Matt has the commitment, knowledge, and drive to be a member of the Select Board.
