In a recent Select Board meeting, there was a discussion concerning the reappointment
of Marie Warner to the Economic Development Committee. Board Member Matt Taylor
expressed some doubt about the reappointment. He was quoted in The Belmont Voice as saying: “I am not criticizing a particular political party.” But he had concerns about the “spread of misinformation and conspiracy,” which he then attributed to the Citizens For A Fiscally Responsible Belmont, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization.
Dismissing the work of the CFRB as “conspiracy theories” is an act of either disdain,
intolerance, or both.
Mr. Taylor should apologize to Marie Warner, the CFRB, and the citizens of Belmont
and promptly resign his Select Board membership.
