My name is Michael McNamara, and I would like to ask you for your vote on April 1. As a Town Meeting member, I am proud to serve Precinct 7 for six years. I have advocated for and helped pass an article that made all Town Meeting votes public (and available on Belmont’s town website). I also have served on the Belmont Housing Trust, working to increase our housing supply and variety to keep our seniors in town and our Belmont-educated students in our communities and working to make Belmont rents more affordable. Affordability is a matter of public safety as our police, fire, and EMS should be able to live in the community where they work. I also serve on Belmont’s Disability Access Commission, where we have pushed for improvements to our crosswalks and sidewalks for those with physical or sight disabilities or limitations.
