I have been a Belmont resident for over 30 years and have consistently voted in town elections I have never seen a super PAC involved in a town election.
When I got the mailed card from the (Mike) Crowley campaign I saw that it was “paid for by the Massachusetts Teachers Association Independent Expenditure PAC.”.
I did more research and found that the PAC also supported Crowley in the past moderator election.
I do not want slick advertising and outside super PACs involved in our town elections.
These are local elections and I want to know that candidates are supported by town people not some outside super PAC.
The moderator needs to be an independent voice supporting all residents.
I will not be supporting a candidate using super PAC money.

Editor’s Note: The Voice reached out to Michael Crowley’s campaign. According to Crowley, the mailing was not from his team, was not coordinated with his team and was “very much a surprise.”
