I am supporting Adam Dash for Town Moderator because he is the only candidate who can bring to the role the independence that it requires and run Town Meeting effectively.
We need a Town Moderator who is impartial. This is the role’s most basic principle. Adam—as a candidate for Moderator—is independent and has not and will not accept financial support, whether directly or indirectly, from any Political Action Committees.
Adam also does not express support or opposition on issues because he understands that this neutrality is what the Town Moderator role requires. Without this impartiality, people lose trust in the process and results.
The issues that come before Town Meeting matter; the votes taken at Town Meeting will have a lasting impact on Belmont for years to come. Because of that, we need a moderator who clearly understands Town Meeting procedures, and who can make the fair and deliberate decisions needed to ensure Town Meeting runs properly and efficiently. From my experience on Town Meeting, Adam is the only candidate that meets that criteria.
I trust Adam to run an effective Town Meeting and to honor the integrity of the role with independence and impartiality.
