Meet Belmont returned this past Monday after a seven-year hiatus, and it exceeded every expectation. The evening gave residents a welcome chance to connect face-to-face with town staff, PTOs, and the dedicated volunteers who serve our community.
Events like this matter. At a time when public institutions can often feel distant or divided, gathering in person reminds us that our local overnment is made up of real neighbors doing meaningful work because they genuinely care about Belmont.
A tremendous thank you goes to everyone who made the evening possible—our Town and School staff, firefighters, and police officers who hosted tables and answered questions. Special recognition belongs to our Recreation Department, which spearheaded the entire event.
Bringing an initiative of this scale to life in just a few short months was an incredible feat and a true testament to their talent and hard work.
Finally, I want to thank Town Administrator Patrice Garvin. When we first discussed ways to deepen community engagement, Patrice immediately asked, “What about Meet Belmont?”
Turning that spark into a vibrant reality is a prime example of her leadership, experience, and enduring commitment to Belmont’s welfare.
If you couldn’t make it this year, don’t worry—we’ll be back next year, bigger and better than ever!
