Support for Daniel Lander

I am writing in support of Daniel Lander for state senate. Like three Watertown City Councilors  and others, I have previously cast my vote for Will Brownsberger and am now turning enthusiastically to Lander.

Lander has a vision for a promising future – with a transparent governing body and a solid understanding of the crises that Massachusetts faces. Lander is willing to listen and learn from his constituents such as nurses and teachers who have real worries about their jobs and future. Brownsberger, on the other hand, stated recently to nurses from MGB “I will not join your picket line.”
Lander has been endorsed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren. As a senior policy adviser to Mayor Michelle Wu, Lander led her “Boston Family Days”  initiative providing access to museums and cultural institutions for Boston’s children.
Additionally, Lander is eager to take on the larger issues of rising costs in health care and housing and would creatively work on supporting small businesses, as he did helping to “…direct funding towards programs such as filling empty store fronts” stated Michael J. Nichols, President of Boston Downtown Alliance.
I am excited about a younger person (Lander is 35) entering government with clear goals, fresh energy and a true commitment to transparency and to creating a better economic future for Massachusetts residents- both young people starting out and for seniors who are facing the challenges of rising costs and fixed incomes.
