As co-chairs of the Belmont Democratic Town Committee, we have spent years working with and for elected officials. Will represents the very best of public service, bringing a rare combination of deep policy expertise and accessibility to the Suffolk and Middlesex District.
Locally, Will has delivered increased state aid for Belmont Schools. He has solved problem after problem to keep Belmont’s Community Path project moving forward. He has delivered critically-timed aid to support the new rink and library and has helped the town close funding gaps again and again. He also has effectively moved Belmont’s home-rule petitions in areas such as additional liquor licenses, property tax assistance, and adjusted retirement classifications for Belmont public safety employees. Because of Will, bus riders in Belmont and Watertown have dedicated bus lanes.
Massachusetts, like every state, is facing strong economic headwinds. We are grateful that Will’s keen intelligence, collaborative work ethic, and years of experience will help the state navigate this uncertainty. We also benefit from his independence, which sometimes creates friction with other leaders — but in our opinion, that’s exactly what makes Will more effective and responsive to his constituents, rather than beholden to those who dislike being challenged.
