A 77-year-old woman died Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Trapelo Road between Beech and Hull streets, according to police.
According to Belmont Interim Police Chief Mark Hurley, Belmont Police, along with the Massachusetts State Police, are investigating the incident. The driver of the vehicle was a 75-year-old woman. No charges have been filed at this time.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and her family,” Hurley said in an email statement Monday morning.
According to Fire Chief David DeStefano, firefighters responded at around 7:30 a.m. Saturday to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, they found a woman who had sustained serious injuries.
Belmont Fire Department Rescue provided advanced life support and care and transported the victim to Mount Auburn Hospital.
