Belmont Market To Recognize National Farmers Market Week

The Belmont Farmers' Market takes place weekly on Thursdays from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at the Belmont Center parking lot.

On Aug. 8, the Belmont Farmers’ Market will recognize National Farmers Market week with a visit from Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources Commissioner Ashley Randle.

According to Hal Shubin, chair of the Market Committee for the Belmont Farmers’ Market, Randle will read Gov. Maura Healey’s proclamation for National Farmers Market Week and talk about the importance of local farms and how farmers markets benefit communities.

Her presentation will be followed by a tour of the market.

The Commissioner will arrive at about 1:30 p.m., and the ceremony will begin at about 1:40 p.m.
