Belmont residents gathered at the Beech Street Center to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
According to hispanicheritagemonth.org, the month is celebrated from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
Sept. 15 is Independence Day for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile celebrate independence on Sept. 16.
