Sheila M. (Powers) Finigan, 85, a long-time resident of Belmont, passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2026.
Sheila was the beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Finigan.
She is survived by Thomas L. Finigan and his wife, Shana Fulton, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Matthew J. Finigan and his wife, Amy, of Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Proud grandmother of Lila Finigan, Nicholas Finigan, Samantha Finigan, and Maxwell Finigan. Sister of Thomas Powers II and his wife, Barbara. Cherished aunt and great aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. Sheila was predeceased by her infant son, Joseph L. Finigan Jr.
Sheila was a dedicated and active member of the St. Joseph’s Community in Belmont for many years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 130 Common St., Belmont, on Friday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheila’s memory can be made to Catholic Charities of Boston, 275 West Broadway, Boston, MA 02127.
